WHAT’S THIS ADVENTURE ABOUT?
Kangaroo Island was devastated in 2019 by bush fires. Our goal is to photograph its recovery. Your booking will go directly to helping local businesses to recover.
This is one of the most photogenic locations on earth! This is our 9th event to the island. We base ourselves at The Western KI Caravan Park, in cabins that survived the fires and new cabins bought by the owners. This is the perfect location to target – The Remarkable Rocks – lighthouses – sealions – beaches and fantastic wildlife. It is also a great time for wild flowers!
Darran lived on the island and has taken several groups to the island since 1982. His intimate knowledge of the best times and hot shooting locations will help to optimise your photo opportunities. All camera brands and photography levels are welcome.
YOUR SAFETY & HEALTH
This has always been of great importance to us. From great tips in our final interaries to quality accommodation and your professional guide managing day to day variations in locations and habitats. Your professional guide is happy to help you at any time and offer the best possible protection for your safety and health. We highly recommend that you see your GP before departure for medical advice about the region.
AUSSIE Photo adventures …

Itinerary to photo adventure…
DAY 1 – Adelaide to Kangaroo Island
Monday, November 1
We depart Adelaide at 7.45am for the 10am ferry departure to Kangaroo Island. (Adelaide accommodation is not included. A hotel will be offered about 3-4 months before the event. More details are supplied in the final itinerary about a month before departure.)
We target two top wildlife experiences soon after arrival on the island. We shoot a local wildlife park that offers difficult to find and shoot subjects. Eagles, owls and flying birds are the goal. This is always a fun shoot! Then to Seal Bay Conservation Park. This area offers excellent wildlife images of Australian Sea Lions. Shoot time is limited due to park rules, but again, your professional guides will maximise this experience.
We move onto our accommodation for the rest of the workshop. After settling in, we include our first workshop.
