WHAT’S THIS ADVENTURE ABOUT?
There are few tropical countries in the world with such an enormous diversity of nature and wildlife in a small territory and where the word “sustainability” is a reality.
That happens in Costa Rica, a small Central American country where more than 26% of its territory has been transformed into national parks, plus an increasing number of private preserves that make this country one of the world’s living Eden.
A country dotted by lush tropical rainforests, dozens of waterfalls, white beaches along the Caribbean and the Pacific, active volcanoes, more than 160 species of colorful tropical amphibians, 910 bird species (including colorful toucans, macaws, parrots, tanagers, quetzals and 57 species of hummingbirds), and one of the best places in the Americas for photographing sloths, white-faced monkeys and tapirs.
And of course Costa Rica is a country of friendly and welcoming people. Imagine depicting them at coffee plantations, weaving, riding their burros, working at their vibrant markets, driving their colourful carriages and dancing their typical “marineras”.
We will target the best of Costa Rica’s diverse wildlife, stunning landscapes and amazing culture! Bring your camera and join us to Costa Rica !

DAY 2 – SAN JOSE – LA PAZ WATERFALL GARDENS
We will take the Pan-American Highway towards the city of Alajuela. In route we will go by the Agriculture Monument and the famous Mango Park and the first stands of cloud forest. As we ascend towards the Poas volcano we will stop for a brief explanation at a coffee plantation and then continue our trip through fern, flower and strawberry farms. We will stop at La Paz Waterfall Gardens, a natural park where we will walk through many spectacular trails which will take us to a group of 5 waterfalls surrounded by lush forest. Inside the park we will also visit the largest butterfly observatory in the country and the impressive hummingbird garden (about 57 species of hummingbirds have been recorded in Costa Rica) and a frog’s exhibit, where we can photograph numerous species of colorful dart frogs considered among the most colorful on Earth. Costa Rica is known for its amazing colorful frogs – some of them poisonous, which will be a temptation for our macro lenses! We return to San José.

DAY 3 – SAN JOSE – TORTUGUERO NATIONAL PARK
Transfer to Tortuguero National Park. We will travel through the Braulio Carrillo National Park, where the landscape shows off a mountainous spine covered with thick rainforest (what an exuberance for our lenses! We will stop at a restaurant in the city of Guápiles for a typical breakfast. We will drive across vast banana plantations and rural communities with stops for shooting wildlife. Arrive to Tortuguero National Park. Located in the North Caribbean, it is a vast wetland of primary forests bathed by a wild sea, which reminds us of the beginnings of the world. The park was created to ensure the protection of its wildlife and biodiversity. The National Park is home to 405 bird species and 3 types of forests: Humid Tropical, Humid Premontane and Tropical Montane. There, we will board our river launch and embark on a 2-hour journey through the rivers and canals of Tortuguero before arriving at our hotel.
